10:25 p.m.

Each second that ticks by brings me closer to what lies ahed. What it is I don't know. When it will happen I also don't know. But I can't wait. Be it summer, university, or a fulltime job... I can't wait. University would be a good way to go, but I couldn't really care less. I can't say the same for others. Society seems to push the thought that if you don't get into a university or college right after highschool, you basically have no future. Thousands of youths are pressured into finding a career to specialize in for the rest of their lives at 17 or 18 years of age. It astounds me how unrealistic this is, yet nobody seems to notice. People will spend thousands of dollars on degrees they will never use, all for the sake of going to University straight out of highschool. Why do we need to find jobs that pay six figures, when less than half that amount would do fine? How many of us actually sit down and assess our lives before we make a decision? What are your priorities? If making a lot of money is one of them, I'm glad I'm not you. The more we have, the more we are burdened. My family makes about enough to get by, and I consider myself spoiled. I have things I don't need. I buy things I won't want in a few months time. I eat like a pig. Speaking of pig, I could go for some... but back to the point. I am attached to my things more than I realize. I couldn't imagine how I would act if I had more. Yet that seems to be the measure of our success according to our society. If we really took time and looked at ourselves, we might find some interesting things. I know I have.

The Audacity of Superheroes.

Spiderman is just chilling in his humble home one day, eating pizza when he notices The Green Goblin whiz by his window. Without so much as a second thought, Spiderman breaks through his 7th story window and chases the villian in a hot pursuit. On the way, he gets caught in one of Batman's previously used zip lines and plummets towards the surface of the earth. The Incredible Hulk is sitting outside a Starbucks enjoying a Mocha Frappucino when he notices this. He bounds to Spiderman's rescue, crushing 2 cars in the process. With Spiderman nestled safely in his arms, The Hulk turns to his right and is startled to notice both the Silver Surfer and Johnny Blaze heading straight for him. Travelling at mach speeds, they chase each other around town breaking windows, destroying powerlines and setting newspaper stands on fire. Meanwhile, Superman is underground trying to stop a train from running over a suicidal jumper. He positions himself in front of the train and begins to brace himself as it nears. The train is suddenly jolted to a stop due to Superman's brute strength. The train is derailed and almost damaged beyond repair, but the suicidal jumper is alright. At the end of the line, Wolverine and Storm are having a heated dispute with Sabretooth and Avalanche. They all fight valiantly in an effort to prove some sort of point that both sides have probably already forgotten. In the midst of all this they destroy an entire subway station and injure a puppy. But it's all for the benefit of the city. Right?

Wrong! WHO IS PLANNING TO PAY FOR ALL OF THIS?!

Superheroes these days...They think they're invisible but don't give a second thought to their surroundings. Did it ever occur to any of these superheroes that the earth is not a playground? These are fully destructible environments man! This isn't some Perfect Dark video game. When you throw a grenade at a wall, it actually blows up! I've never once heard Spiderman offer to clean up any of the nasty webbing he leaves strewn about the city. The web he swings around on doesn't just disappear you know! Window cleaners are outraged at how many windows they need to replace because of Spiderman's stupid webs. Sure, Superman may have saved the world many-a-time with his laser eyes...But drywalling companies are fed up of replacing these walls everyday! Would it kill these so-called 'superheroes' to exercise a little bit of caution now and again? Frig Man. Who do they think pays for all of this? Taxpayers! Taxpayer's money is being poured into the restoration of the city at the fault of our modern day superheroes.

This is a message to all you inconsiderate superheroes out there: Try being a real hero someday! Clean up your mess!!!

Things I Don't Quite Hate

In an appropriate contrast to my last post, here is a list of things I like.

1. Snow on Christmas: Because it means global warming isn't slowly killing us yet.
2. Dry Socks: Because there is nothing worse than wet socks
3. Wendy's Spicy Chicken: 75% of the time, it tastes good everytime.
4. Dr. Phil If you don't like this man, it's only because your jealous of his pimped out moustache. Come on, admit it.
5. Cheese Whiz: Condiment? Filling? whatever it is...a food fit for gods.
6. Musicals: For reasons I can no longer remember
7. iPods: They screw me over and I continue to buy their products...I'm a slave to a company named after a fruit
8. Old People Dancing: For some reason it makes me laugh harder than anything else does.
9. Animal Crossings: When life gets tough...retreat into the virtual world of animal crossings!
10. Potatoes: They're basically a superfood. What else can you eat for every concievable meal of the day?
11. Those Beaver Mascots for Bell: Who knew beavers could be so witty?
12. Hawaii: I've never been there, but I'm sure I would love it.
13. That extra skin on your elbows: It's what gets me through law class every day
14. Soap: Think about it...without it we would all be pretty lonely people.
15. Running out of things to put on your list: Because then you start making up ridiculous crap for the sake of having at least 15 things on it.

Things I Hate

A list of things that annoy me to bring in the new year.

1. Christmas without snow: Explanation not needed
2. Facebook: It becomes more important than reality to some people. Get a grip. Go outside and live a little!
3. Crocs, Ugz and people who think they actually look good.: You're not kidding anyone!
4. MP3 Phones: Mainly the people who walk down the halls blasting their music from mp3 phones. It's bad enough that you listen to garbage music, don't make everyone else suffer. Buy some freaking headphones!
5. Borat: He's just not funny. Why does everyone think he's funny? I for one hope he get execute.
6. Emo Jokes: It's just not funny anymore. Emo jokes are dead. live with it.
7. Bush Jokes: See: Emo Jokes
8. Classic Rock: More specifically people who refuse to believe that any music created after they were born is any good.
9. Chuck Norris: I don't care who he is or what logic-defying stunts he can perform. I just. don't. care.
10. 133t Speak: numbers are not a suitable replacement for vowels. And ommiting vowels from words doesn't make you cool either, so stop.
11. Aardvarks: Seriously...They have no place in life...save for Arthur. He has a place.
12. Coldplay: For reasons I can no longer remember
13. People who argue on internet forums: It's just plain dumb. Be a man and step away from the keyboard!
14. Long Msn Names: I don't want your life story. I don't want to know if your showering, or if your eating dinner, or when your going to a club next. In fact I don't think anybody cares. Do you even care?
15. People who list things they hate in their blogs
16. Lame attempts at irony

A New Beginning.

Welcome to my first post of the new year! I'm glad to be able to share it with you. Let me start off by saying that this post will not be focused on anything in particular, I just feel like writing. If your not interested in my random thoughts induced by my lack of sleep then I'd quit reading now.
So I googled the word "tired" to see how many ways I could tell you how tired I am. Apparently the word fagged is an appropriate synonym. So from now on, I am no longer tired. I am fagged. I've been pretty fagged all day and continue to be fagged now, so I apologize for my incoherency.
Well, It's the new year and I'm actually pretty excited. I have a feeling that this year is going to be a good year. if not only in comparison to last year... A lot can happen in a year, and that's what I'm hoping for. With any luck, by the end of 2007 I'll have secured a job I am somewhat happy with, I will have been accepted into a university, I will have worked at a summer camp, and I will have seen and been pleased with the Simpsons movie and the Transformers movie. I'm also getting a clearer image of the type of person God wants me to be and hopefully by the end of the year I will have come a little closer to becoming that person. Hopefully I won't get too sucked into the world of Wii and I will retain my sanity and connection with the outside world. Consequently, I've had a headache for about 6 days straight. I've either been in my basement, at work or in a movie theatre for pretty much the whole vacation. It puzzles me because I'd much rather be outdoors, yet I spend most of my life inside. The only solution to this problem is to go backpacking. Nothing would be more fun than just taking off to a new place with nothing but the clothes on my back and some survival tools...not that I would know how to use them, but just in case. One day man...One day.
As for last year, I wasn't too happy with it. But rather than dwell on it, I choose to embrace the future and just be prepared for anything that might come my way. I'm hoping a shower will come my way soon because I am feeling and probably smelling pretty rank right now. I haven't showered since yesterday and I'm running out of deoderant, but you didn't need to know that. In fact, you don't need to know any of this. But your here, and have already read this far, so why stop now? Continue to enlighten yourself with my wisdom. Continue!!
I'm sure this new year will bring forth some more crap as far as music is concerned. I've been quite sad lately at the direction in which music is going. I'm not trying to say that I don't like any current music, because that would be a lie bigger than Mr. Tom Delonge's ego. Yeah, burn? Anyways, Music just isn't what it used to be. Any punk or ska band that have been around for more than 5 years have either morphed into some "life-changing" pseudo rock group, exchanged their energy for eyeliner or turned into Gwen Stephani. Ok, so I'm specifically referring to blink-182, No Doubt and Green Day. In my opinion, they all need to go back to the 90's and fix whatever broke along the way. I would have liked to have posted the song Spiderwebs up as a New Years present to the millions of people who read my blog, but it didn't work...so enjoy some mewithoutYou instead!

Where's Christmas?

Every year as Christmas nears, I am filled with the christmas spirit. I can't help but smile as I pass houses illuminated with christmas lights and covered with a thin veil of snow. The house is elegantly decorated with tacky garland and christmas ornaments I made when I was 9. The old people on my paper route smile and wish me merry christmas instead of yelling at me because their papers were late. Rude shoppers shove me aside as they are in a frenzy to pick up last minute gifts, and I politely apologize. I just can't get angry at this time of year. This is the case every year...

Not this year.

This year as christmas nears, I am filling with subtle bitterness. I can't help but grumble as I pass houses sparsely decorated with dull christmas lights. The the streets are damp and mushy with rain. My house is still elegantly decorated with tacky garland and christmas ornaments I made when I was nine(possibly the one redeeming thing so far). The old people on my paper route complain because their papers are wet, then awkwardly stare at me, waiting for an apology that I don't even owe. Rude shoppers basically tackle me as I wade through them, simply trying to take out the cardboard and get back to work alive. I have very little Christmas spirit left...

Maybe because I'm attaching the wrong type of significance to the holiday?

Bah.

A Wii Problem With Society

You’ve no doubt heard about the gaming revolution that is sweeping the nation. With Sony and Nintendo both releasing their new systems before the Christmas season, everybody and their dog are in a frenzy to get their hands on these systems. What’s surprising is the level of intellect that these people have. People aren’t thinking twice about spending over a thousand dollars on ebay just to have a PS3 in time for Christmas. People are lining up outside stores for hours in the freezing cold waiting for the next shipments of Nintendo Wiis to arrive. It’s fascinating to see, especially because they will all be in abundant supply in no less than a month. This is just a hint of what the brain capacity is of these customers. The real trick for these people is not accumulating the money to buy the system, nor is it having the endurance to wait outside a store for hours on end. The big problem seems to be with making the system last more than a week after it’s purchase. But of course, any damages caused to the system or its accessories are never the fault of the users.

For those of you who don’t know, the Nintendo Wii is a system that attempts to extend its boundaries far beyond the generic game play of its competitors. The system incorporates the motion of its users into the game via a motion sensor remote. The result is a much more immersive gaming experience. Users will move the remote to simulate actual movements like swinging a bat, punching, aiming a gun, and steering a car. Nintendo’s aim was to prove that game play was in fact much more important than graphics. Because of this, Nintendo made no effort to push for the most life like graphics on the market. Their primary focus was to create a new innovative type of game play that would expand their demographic. They got what they wanted; unfortunately the system started attracting people that lack the basic necessary motor functions to enjoy a system as simple as this.

It’s not a month into the Nintendo Wii’s release and people across the globe are spewing complaints about “malfunctions” that they are experiencing with the systems. No, none of the equipment is faulty. It appears that the intellects of the users are faulty. Nintendo has received well over 50 complaints concerning the Nintendo Wii and the flimsy wrist-straps that accompany the controllers. Apparently, people get so excited while playing the games that they take it a little too far. Several reports of broken televisions, remotes and even black eyes and cut open figures have been circulating on T.V. and the Internet. The complaints have mainly rested with the wrist straps being too flimsy and not an adequate safety feature. The wrist straps have been allegedly breaking, causing the remotes to become projectiles, striking anything within a few feet of the area. People are outraged and are blaming Nintendo for supplying faulty equipment. I have one thing to ask these people. Are you stupid?

Why is it so absurd to assume that it would be necessary to hold on to the remote in order to prevent it from flying. Is it Nintendo’s fault that people are stupid enough to let go of the remote in mid swing? The strap was meant to be a backup safety feature, just in case once in a while the remote were to accidentally slip from the person’s hand. But the amount of reports coming in about broken T.V. sets, walls and windows just goes to show that most people are not capable of performing simple tasks like holding a remote, and choose to blame others for their incompetence. A simple test run of the remote with a bunch of incompetent monkeys would have shown that even the simplest of minds are able to comprehend the importance of holding on to the remote. Sadly, there are a few people who lack even this mental capacity. What’s even worse, Nintendo had no way of anticipating the sheer stupidity of their consumers. Now Nintendo is pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into an exchange program, where unsatisfied users can write in and request stronger wrist straps.

It seems that with each passing year, consumers are getting dumber and dumber. I recall a couple of years ago that a man tried to sue McDonalds because he was getting a little overweight. Because it was McDonalds’ fault right? Sadly, businesses and suppliers have to go so far as to spell out every ridiculously obvious detail, making sure that there is no way they can possibly be misunderstood. Our society is being baby fed absolutely everything nowadays and we are slowly becoming dumber. Signs need to be posted everywhere to ensure our safety. And the companies are at the mercy of their consumers. What the consumer wants, the consumer gets. It becomes a vicious cycle and won’t stop until the human race is a bumbling, drooling, incompetent race of idiots. The problems with Nintendo Wii are just the beginning. Demands will get worse, and companies will listen. A single phrase will be the cause of our demise: The Customer is Always Right.

Just How Dangerous Is Dangerous Dans?

There is no better way to prove what a gluttonous city we live in than to have a Diner whose 24-ounce burger is the top seller.

Dangerous Dan’s Diner, located at Queen St. East and Broadview, is the famously infamous lowbrow restaurant whose shoddy service and grungy atmosphere only add to the charm, and keeps regulars coming back. Dangerous Dan’s Diner has been featured in many articles and criticized by anyone whose health comes before their appetite. The minute you walk in the door, you can literally feel the grease accumulate on your forehead. Instead of normal chairs, they boast several car seats, which seem like they were ripped right out of the cars from their parking lot.

So why all the publicity? Simple. Their Quadruple C Burger (also known as the Colossal Colon Clogger Combo) has enough meat in it to feed a small country…twice. The meat patty alone is the equivalent of six quarter-pounders from McDonalds. If that’s not enough to satisfy your carnivorous appetite, it is topped with a quarter pound of bacon and a quarter pound of cheese. And just for kicks, they decided to throw on two fried eggs. You might as well eat a small farm if you’re going to indulge in a hamburger such as this! The burger of course comes with all the toppings, a large milkshake and a poutine to top it all off. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you’ll go for the Royale combo, which adds a fried mars bar with whipped cream and icing for dessert.

There’s no question that the burger is much more of a novelty than for enjoyment. After finishing, I felt like I had swallowed a time bomb and I was just waiting to explode. The meat was simply too much and over powered all of the other flavours the burger had to offer.

Don’t let my description of the restaurant discourage you though. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Dangerous Dan’s. Without the car seats, sarcastic waiters and excess amounts of paraphernalia plastered the walls, you just wouldn’t be experiencing Dangerous Dan’s Diner to it’s fullest extent.

For anyone whose eyes are bigger than their stomach, Dangerous Dan’s Colossal Colon Clogger Combo is just waiting for a new victim!

Revamped much?

So I decided to revamp my web page because I was getting bored of the...how you say...blackness of the older one? But some problems arose, and I'm much to lazy to deal with them. So for the time being, the comments will be all screwed up...Yeah I'm pretty much just talking to you Fiona. Anywhoo, I haven't been blogging much lately what with things and stuff, but I'll have a lot of free time during the break so expect tons of useless posts then. Now I must go write an essay that has been deleted twice already...maybe I'll learn to back up my work someday.

Nostalgia

If you know me, you'll know that I really enjoy my music. Only after reflecting on it for a while did I realise how much of my life is surrounded by music. I listen to music to wake up in the morning. I listen to music on the way to school. I listen to music sometimes straight through the school day, and also on the way back. As I am travelling, I always make sure to have my trusty cd player at my side. And only recently have I stopped listening to certain types of music before I go to bed at night. Such is the case for a lot of people. Are lives are engulfed by music. Not that this is a bad thing. It can be a bad thing sometimes, but that's not what I'm here to touch on, so ignore that last sentence completely.
Music also has the power to strongly influence our emotions. It can make us happy, sad, angry, etc. It is very helpful to listen to the type of music that can be best associated with your emotions at the time. For example, nothing beats listening to some Tool or Three Days Grace when you're really peeved off at something. Alexisonfire and The Offspring are good for when you just want to go crazy and jump around like an idiot, or bands like Copeland or Mae when you feel like you just might have fallen in love and are on top of the world. Maybe a little Postal Service or Relient K when you just feel like smiling? That's more than enough examples for you to understand what I mean. Eventually, songs or bands start to take on a sort of nostalgic effect. This would have to be the most valuable thing music has to offer in my opinion. Because music is so constantly listened to throughout our lives, we can often attribute certain periods of time or specific events to particular songs or bands. Have you ever popped in a cd and while listening to it, thought to yourself "yeah, this takes me back to when *insert scenario here"? I love that feeling. Speaking in terms of specific days, throwing on Jimmy Eat World's Clarity takes me back to the first days of grade 9 where I was a nervous wreck, and the soothing tracks "For Me This Is Heaven" and "Goodbye Sky Harbor" were the only thing to pacify me at night. As for general points in my life, highs can be associated with cd's like blink-182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, and mae's Destination: Beautiful. While some low points can be linked to cd's like Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory and System of a Down's Toxicity. At times, music can take you back to moments that are so incredibly specific. Like everytime I listen to Brandtson, I'm taken back to this one day that I stayed home from school and walked my dog. It relates in no big way to that day except for the fact that I happened to listen to it during my walk with Toby. Why that doesn't happen with all cd's I don't know, but it's great when it does.
Nostalgia is just another great thing you can get out of music. So throw on an old cd, sit back and reminisce. It's pretty interesting finding out what cds you can relate to certain points of your life. It's amazing what you can get out of music sometimes.

Looking for the Brigher Side

There's usually a brighter side to most things in life. Look hard enough and you'll find it 90% of the time. Even if there isn't one, more often than not you can create a brighter side. Only problem is, when you can't seem to find it, you panic. What happens when the reassurance of the brighter side is muffled by clouded, self destructive thoughts and the light suddenly dims? You search for the switch but it's too dark to be found, and all hope is seemingly lost for some time. Of course, if you just take your time and let your eyes adjust to the dark, breathe deep, flip the switch and continue onward, you'll eventually be fine again... but it doesn't erase the uneasy discomfort of the dark. All you can do is just push it back. Push it down. Pray that you'll never be left in the dark again, and that the bright side is always just a step away.

Praise & Prayer

Bonjour mes amis! Comment ca va? Ah, who am I kidding. I only wish I could speak french, and I would have too, if it wasn't for that pesky school of mine! Ugh, It's seriously about time I stopped being bitter about Mary Ward letting me screw myself over. I'm actually here to talk about what's been on my heart lately. To whoever reads this, you can either take it or leave it. No, I haven't come to any profound conclusions or haven't had any epiphanies or revelations to speak of. However, I've been much more aware of God and how he has been speaking to me. Lately I've been kind of reminded of a few truths about worship.
Worship is something I participate in on a fairly consistent basis, but not like I should. The purpose of worship is to do just that. Worship. Not because you feel obligated to. Not because you're in a particularly good mood that day. Not because it will help you sleep better tonight, but because God is worthy of it. Too often do we enter into worship and leave unsatisfied. Why? Because we're doing it for the wrong reasons. Maybe we think that it'll make us feel good inside if we sing some happy Jesus songs and jump around. Maybe we think it'll fix our problems for a bit. And yeah, maybe it will. But to enter into worship with that kind of attitude will get us nowhere. Worship is not worship unless we are 100% focused on praising God, even when you don't particuarly feel like it because you've had a rough day. God is always deserving of our praise, and if we keep this in mind we can't go wrong.

The same goes for prayer. It is extremely important to enter into prayer with a completely humble and thankful heart, otherwise our prayers can start to get self centered and the whole point of prayer goes right out the window. Remember: It's not what you get out of it that matters, it's what you put into it.
These are just somethings that have been on my mind. I also really liked this psalm that I read the other day. It's a good psalm to encourage praise and or prayer, which is why i'm mentioning it. So...here she is ladies and gents!

I lift my eyes up to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and creator of earth. He will not let your foot slip. He who watches over you will not slumber; Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life; The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
-Psalm 121

'Tis one of my favourites, and a good one to memorize. Well I hope everyone is doing just swimmingly! Now I must get back to my Pokemon! My Seedot is just 1 level away from evolving:D!

In Good Hands

"If we died with him,
we will also live with him;
If we endure,
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us;
If we are faithless,
he will remain faithful
for he cannot disown himself"
2 Timothy 2:11-13

To be faithful is sometimes hard these days. There are so many things that get in the way of our faith in God that it's rediculous. Things like your future are hard to trust to anyone, and then you learn that it's entirely up to God. This should be a comforting realization, but more times than not it lights a little fire under your bum and sparks a panic. "How do I know what God wants me to do?", "Am I praying hard enough?", "What if he wants me to go to York?! I don't want to go to York!" are all phrases that started to spin out of control in my head, and to be completely honest...they're still there. However, It's pretty comforting to know that God does not abandon us even when we don't have complete faith. Sometimes that closeness you felt with God while worshipping in church isn't as present as you'd like it to be and it feels like God has abandoned you. It is important to remember though, that as long as He lives within us, He will never leave us. God has faith even in the times that we don't. Pretty good to know you're in good hands, eh?

This just made me laugh. These dorks are gonna look back on pictures like this 10 years from now and curse themselves for taking whatever drugs they took that made them think they looked cool. Seriously...

who in their right minds
thinks this looks
COOL?!
Honestly, If bands like Panic! At The Ugmo want to be taken seriously, they need to stop trying to look like Twisted freaking Sister. It's not the 80's. You're not cool. Stop trying.

A Weight Off My Shoulders

Well the time has come. After 4 long and enjoyable years, I say goodbye to something very special to me. It's kept me warm in the winter. It has been my makeshift pillow during class. It has been a source of entertainment when I had nothing else. Now it is gone. I have cut my hair. Sure, this doesn't seem like a big deal to the average feller. I, however, had a special bond with my mop. My hair hasn't been this short since the days of Creation '03. Most won't recognize me. "Who's that?" they'll say. "Certainly not Patrick, he's got that awesome long hair!". But alas, it is me. Like a sheep being brutally sheared of his coat, I stand here shivering in the absense of my warm hair...and right before winter! What the crap was I thinking? Ugh, I make some stupid mistakes sometimes. Ah, who cares! Hair grows back, I'll be normal again in no time. I really don't mind the haircut at all, I just needed something to blog about and this seemed like a pretty legit topic for a blog. Now I wouldn't want to leave all my (2) blog readers hanging, so for you lucky sons of guns, I will post some of my most attractive pictures.
Here I am loser-ishly trying to get into frame while assuming a "thinking" position. I pretty much needed a thinking picture because thats what people with short hair do. Unfortunately, also present in this picture is my rediculous farmers tan. That's what I get for being half brown...Skin whiter than...well..something that's blindingly white. Alright I'm not at my best creatively today, back off. On to picture number 2.
This is a simulation of what my face looked like waking up this morning and looking in the mirror. Granted, this is the face I usually make when looking at myself in the mirror every morning. However this time it is a look of complete shock after forgetting I cut my hair the previous day...not because making funny faces in the mirror every morning amuses me...which it does. Onward! Here is my second attempt at simulating a thinking face. Yes, it looks like I'm about to sneeze, but believe it or not there are some very complex mathematical questions floating around that big ol' brain of mine just waiting to be solved. They just might be waiting a while. Well there you have it ladies and gents. The new me. Now when you see me, you won't have to say "Oh my gosh you cut your hair!", even though you probably will. I'm ok with that, as long as you don't put it into the form of a question. PLEASE do not raise the pitch of your voice at the end of the sentence, because that would imply that your asking me if I cut my hair when CLEARLY I did! Thank you for reading my blog.

A Rant in the Key of C

If You've ever walked into Steve's music store on a saturday afternoon, then you'll know quite well the repititious sound of snobby rich teens and 40-somethings hammering away at the Warwicks and ESP's for hours. Everyone within a 5 mile radius of the store that has to suffer from the constant wailing knows that these losers aren't interested in buying these guitars. They have but one sole purpose in life; to make themselves feel like they're worth something because they can play a scale five times faster than you can. Well guess what, you still suck! If you really want to know how well a particular guitar sounds, play a freaking chord! Fiddle with a song you know...Don't play me a bunch of random scales that make you sound better than you are, 'cause you're not fooling anyone! You'll leave the store and never see any of those people again in your life. You'll gain a temporary high that makes you falsely believe you have a real talent that'll take you places some day. Congratulations meatwad.
Now it may come across to some people that this rant is fueled by nothing but jealousy. You could not be more wrong. It annoys me because people who may be interested in buying/renting a guitar get shoved to the back of the line and have to wait for the overstaffed employees to finish with the kids playing 9 minute solos and the hippies talking about how music used to be good back in the day. Get your priorities straight employees! And go home pretentious wannabe guitar freaks! Go back into your dark little hole of a basement where you don't piss me off.

And now I present you with a title that has absolutely nothing to do with the original post!

I am a man at the end of his rope. I have been screwed out of the only two real jobs I've had, and now remain jobless. Nothing is worse than being in your final year of highschool, with university fast approaching, without a job or hope of one in sight. Relying on God to provide is something much easier said than done. Does God not want me to go to University? Am I simply screwing my self over and looking for the excuse that "it's all in God's plan?" Am I not working hard enough on my own to get a job? God only helps those who help themselves, right? Do I need to relax a little bit more and just breathe?! Yes. That is exactly what I need. A breath of fresh air. Perhaps the problem here is that I am blinded by my own worry. I need to chill...ya know? Take a chill pill. Do they even have those? If so are they legal? Why am I asking so many questions to which no one will answer? I guess that's just how my mind works. I think I know what I need. Some pumpkin pie. Holy crap it's thanksgiving weekend! Two days left til thanksgiving and I haven't even had a practice pie. How am I going to be able to ingest all those pumpkin pies on Thanksgiving when I haven't had any practice?! I don't even have money for practice pie! Oh, this is pathetic. I've been so worried about my stupid little problems that I've completely forgotten about Thanksgiving...To be thankful! I'm lucky to have everything I do. I should be glad I have a pumpkin pie in the first place to eat! What's this business about practice pie?! Hm?? Crazy talk, that's what that is. Pure and simple crazy talk. I would be lucky to have a quarter what I do now. Sweet family, amazing friends, food to eat every day...Not to mention Resident Evil 4! Yeah that'll be taking up most of my spare time for the next month or so. Usually Animal Crossing would be in it's place but my memory card got stepped on and now my virtual world no longer exists. Well now that I've completely strayed off my original point, I think I'll come to a close...maybe I'll change the title of the post too. Done and done. That's it for today's edition of rambling. I'll be back after I enjoy my thanksgiving turkey and pie!

Gone, Going Gone...

And so it begins. The passing of an age...The dawn of a new era. The hardest freakin' year of my life...and only 8 months of it to go. I don't have a job, yet I'm expected to make $10,000 by the end of the year. I suck at most of my courses, yet I'm expected to achieve a minimum 80% average. And to top it all off, I'm completely out of shape! The subtle niceties I once enjoyed are now gone...Flushed down a metaphorical toilet, without so much as a goodbye, or well wish. Gone are the daily fast food expeditions. Gone is the wasting of time by watching reruns of clone high and the simpsons. Gone are the crappy movies that are in theatres these days, and gone are the frequent hang-outs with my favouritest peoples.I oh so enjoyed those(they're still around...but far less frequent). Not to mention all those cd's and dvd's I want to buy. Yeah, they're gone too. Speaking of gone, my iPod just died. Ain't that just a kick in the pants? I guess this'll just be a year of learning. I knew it would be tough, but I never thought I'd need to learn these things to such an extent. I've already learned quite a valuable lesson. A lesson I didn't expect to learn. You really never know what you've got 'til it's gone. You might think you do, but you really don't. This works on so many levels. Appreciate what you've got...Seriously. Even the little things, especially the little things. They're so much more amazing when you do. When you know something won't last forever, you tend to appreciate it more. I've kept that in mind lately, and nothing is more true. Hark! The toll of the school bell! I'm out for now.

Goodbye, and Godbless.

p.s. Gone Going by Black Eyed Peas feat. Jack Johnson is a song that never gets old... Just thought I'd let y'all know.

Season Premiere

Throughout the last couple of years I have been a seasonal blogger. I would blog random stories or feelings as and when I pleased. Granted, that wasn't very often. I've never really had a "home" where I could blog. I was a blog bum, squatting in any and every internet application that I used that would allow me to blog(for example msn spaces, myspace). This bum has now found a home. For those who are interested(and those who just have nothing better to do), I will be blogging here from now on. Those who have read my previous blogs know what to expect. The odd spontaneously created story, useless rant and stupid observation will make appearances here, along with some scattered reflections on my faith and consequently my life. Feel free to set this page as your homepage. So sit back, crank up some Pachelbel* and enjoy the ride!

*note: blogs are best viewed when listening to classical music or while watching A&E Biographies of people nobody really cares about.
